Terms & Conditions

Please read all the terms and conditions below.

POINTS 1 TO 15 APPLY TO ALL STUDENTS (1-TO-1 TUITION, PAIR AND GROUP TUITION)

1.   Advanced payment is required on a monthly basis for all tuition.   I will only teach lessons paid in advance.

2.   I can only timetable weekly  lessons.  I cannot accommodate fortnightly lessons.

3.   All notes provided are viewable online only.  They can be downloaded or printed if required.

4.   Lessons will start at the scheduled time.  If you do not login within the first 20 minutes of the scheduled start time and do not contact me to explain why you have not logged in, I will consider the lesson to be cancelled. The payment for this missed lesson will still be required and the lesson cannot be rescheduled.

5.   If you are having problems logging in then you must contact me immediately  by phone call, Skype messaging, Gmail, text / WhatsApp or via my website.   

6.  I do expect students to attend their lessons every week.  I can allow one cancellaton per student per term, provided 24 hours notice is given.  Any further cancellations in that term would be charged for, even if 24 hours notice is given.

7.   I reserve the right to charge in full for any lessons cancelled by the student (or the student’s parent or guardian) with less than 24 hours notice.

8.   My timings are based on BST from April-October and GMT from November -March.  The student is responsible for changing their timetable during the changeover from BST to GMT and from GMT to BST.

9.   I can sometimes carry out work outside of the lesson.  This will be charged on a pro rata basis.

10.   I do not allow students to take screenshots of my PowerPoints or record the online lessons.   

11.   When a student finishes their tuition, access to any resources will stop with immediate effect.

12.   All my online tuition is carried out with the audio and video switched on.  I must be able to hear the student and be able to see the student's full face at all times. 

13.  Whilst I will always endeavour to do my best for every student, I cannot, and do not, guarantee a specific grade will be achieved by a student in any examination.   

14.  Fees for lessons will be reviewed yearly, at the start of each academic school year. 

15.   I reserve the right to make changes to my terms and conditions at any time.  Notice of any changes would be given to students and parents already in the timetable.

POINTS 16 TO 19 APPLY TO STUDENTS WHO ARE TAKING PAIR OR GROUP TUITION

16.  Students wishing to sign up for pair tuition must come as a ready made pair.

17. Students wishing to sign up for group tuition do not need to come forward as a ready made group, however, the lessons cannot run unless there is a minimum of 2 students in the group.  If the group at any stage reduces to only one student then then lessons will stop unless the remaining student wishes to continue as a 1-to-1 student, paying the 1-to-1 rate, until another student can be found.

18.   Pair or Group tuition - each student must pay monthly in advance of the tuition.  Should any student(s) in the pair or group not be able to attend a particular lesson, the payment from that lesson will still be taken.  (Unfortunately, cancellations for any reason are not an option for students signed up for pair or group tuition - see point 19 below)

19.  If a student in a pair or group tuition  is unable to attend a lesson, I will record the lesson and give the absent student access to the recorded lesson for 7 days only so that they do not miss out on the material covered.  Therefore, parents/guardians of students attending pair/group tuition must give permission for the group lesson to be recorded which will contain their son/daughters voice (but not video).  By completing these terms and conditions, you will be giving permission for pair or group tuition to be recorded, should it be necessary.
